A few weeks ago we went on the annual Boulder Mountain bike ride. (They ride road bikes) A group of riders take 3 days, start & end in Circleville Ut making about a 240mile loop. We stayed the two nights in Torrey & Escalante UT. This was Don's 7th time to ride, my 4th time (as SAG) but this trip started 20 something years ago with a few guys from the valley here. President Bledsoe was our veteran making this trip his 21st. Wow! What an accomplishment. Every year the number of riders vary. This year the most we had were 10 riders. A few years back there were 30. You should see the look on the faces of the people when we walk in the cafes at the small towns where we stop for lunch.
Here are a few group pictures of the riders & SAGS (support crew).
Riders in top left picture, l to r:
Paul Leavitt, Monte Bledsoe, Tim Walker, Don Whipple, Chad Leavitt, Troy Huebner, David Steed, David Boren, Brian Rebman. (Ben Rodriguez joined us day 2, he is awesome BTW)
Here are a few pictures from along the trail. Each day you have to try to remember who is wearing what jersey because they tend to all look the same from far away. This is a lot easier with 10 riders than 30.
We get to see the most beautiful country. It never gets boring. You have to look quick though so you can hurry & not miss the next city sign. One of the fun things about the ride are the "sprints" to each green city sign. It is basically like a finish line at each city. There is always some strategy involved in "taking" the sign.

OH! I wondered how "The Quitling Grandma" found my blog and commented on it. I looked at her blog thinking maybe it was your mom, but it wasn't. I still don't know who it was, but I bet you do!
Enjoyed your Boulder pics!
